Start Date: December 09, 2024 - End Date: January 06, 2025County: York CountyJob Type: FinanceThe City of Saco is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance Director to join our leadership team. This full-time, 37.5-hour-per-week position offers a competitive salary range of $105,000-$130,000, based on qualifications and experience, along with an excellent benefits package.As the Finance Director, you will play a critical role in overseeing and managing the financial operations of the City, ensuring fiscal stability, and driving strategic financial planning. This position is responsible for managing all aspects of the Finance Department, including budgeting, accounting, tax collection, financial analysis, grant administration, cash and investment management, and compliance with governmental accounting standards.Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement strategic financial plans and policies that support the City's goals.
  • Oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable, tax collection, and payroll processes.
  • Prepare the annual budget in collaboration with the City Administrator.
  • Manage the City's year-end audit process and ensure compliance with state and national accounting standards.
  • Optimize cash flow and investments to maximize revenue.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to the Finance Department team.
  • Ensure compliance with Tax Increment Financing (TIF) and other reporting requirements.Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
    • Minimum of 7-10 years of progressively responsible experience in finance, including 5 years in a leadership role.
    • Strong knowledge of Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) principles and public sector finance.
    • CPA, CGFM, or CMA certification is highly desirable.
    • Proven ability to manage complex budgets, conduct financial forecasting, and develop financial policies.
    • Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills.Why Join Us?
