Your Impact:INPRS has a great experience building opportunity for a student seeking an Accounting, Finance, or business-related degree. INPRS Finance Department will train the intern for the following responsibilities: maintaining accounting records, reconciling accounts, and resolving discrepancies in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures. The position reports to and will be mentored by the Controller and/or Senior Finance Manager.Essential Duties:
  • Performs daily reconciliations of employer and member contributions from source system to the external recordkeeper
  • Prepares daily cash funding requests and analysis
  • Prepares periodic account reconciliations for specific processes and general ledger accounts
  • Analyzes and resolve differences in a timely and efficient manner
  • Prepares journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation
  • Performs related duties or special projects as assigned
  • Prepares schedules for monthly and annual reporting
Job Requirements:
  • Basic knowledge of the theories, principles and practices of accounting and auditing standards
  • General knowledge of organization, functions, goals and purposes of department and agency
  • Good problem solving, analytical, mathematical and research skills
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to set priorities, work under pressure of formal schedules and deadlines
  • Attention to detail with high degree of accuracy
  • Follows policies set by the Finance department without reminder
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective work relationships
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Good understanding of internal controls and ability to implement controls
Experience and Qualifications:
  • Working towards a Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance or business-related degree
