About The Role

This role uniquely combines: leading Finance for a startup AND leading the Operations & Accounting for a fund. Someone who can be the Finance leader for Secfi and provide control, oversight and operational excellence across our funds.

In this dynamic role, you'll be instrumental in architecting new processes and workflows, upholding operational excellence, ensuring high quality fund reporting, evaluating financial metrics on an ongoing basis. This position is an exciting role for a tech-savvy professional with Finance, public accounting or fund accounting experience. Someone with a strong Finance background who is hands-on, likes solving complex challenges, expanding their horizon into operations and simplifying them to establish controls and processes, as well as likes going into details whilst making a direct bottom line impact on a FinTech scale up.

Responsibilities Include

  • Financial planning & reporting: oversee company s budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning. Ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, Preparing key finance / business metrics and insights and becoming the Finance partner to the CEO and COO
  • Financial management: managing cash flow, accounts payable and receivables, developing financial policies and procedures, bank reconciliations, month-end closing on Netsuite
  • Fund Operations Excellence: Oversee the operations, accounting and control mechanisms of Secfi Asset Management entities, ensuring a seamless and accurate investment closing process that combines providing the customer a best in class experience, making sure investments close in time and in accurate fashion and tie-into the accounting
  • Fund Financial Diligence: Take charge of NAV valuations, account reconciliations, financial & tax reporting, fund setup and settlements, capital calls & distributions, and coordinate annual fund audits
  • Process and Workflow Ideation, Design & Implementation: Spearhead the definition and implementation of new Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and quality control assurances, fostering operational excellence across the Investment Management business, working alongside internal and external stakeholders
  • Third-Party Service Oversight: Assume full responsibility for the management of third-party service provider relationship, ensuring Ownership and oversight of 3rd party service provider relationships to ensure that all service level agreements are met with precisionand all functional work

What You Bring

  • Experienced Professional: 3+ years in Finance, public accounting, or in a finance/accounting role within a fund or asset manager
  • Operational and Accounting Savvy: Deep understanding of operational and accounting concepts, coupled with US GAAP proficiency and its application to private funds
  • Hands-On Analytical: Ability to roll up sleeves with the business and drive analytical insights and metrics to inform decision-making
  • Tech-Driven mindset: Tech savvy with a relentless drive to simplify and automate; ability and passion for scaling solutions
  • Communicator and Collaborator: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience in high growth VC backed Fintech companies
  • Strong understanding of equity compensation
  • Experience with partnership taxation and K-1s
