- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or relevant fields, with having completed some related graduate studies, Master's degree preferred
- 3 years of financial/accounting or auditing experience, including 2 years of experience as a fiscal manager over budgets greater than one million dollars
- Knowledge of computer based accounting programs/software and applications
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills, strong management and supervisory skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Planning
Assist the CFO and CEO in formulating the company's future direction and supporting tactical initiativesMonitor the implementation of strategic business plansAssist with the development of financial strategiesAssist with the budgeting processesAssist with the development of performance measures and monitoring systems that support the company's strategic directionProvides financial consultation and guidance to the CEO, the Program Directors and Board of Directors in areas related to strategic planning, budgeting, financial statement preparation, account analysis and other financial mattersOperations
Assist with managing the accounting, legal, tax, and treasury departmentsAssist with supervising and training accounting and finance staff Manage any third parties to which accounting or finance functions have been outsourcedAssist with managing the company's transaction processing systemsImplement operational best practicesSupervise acquisition due diligence and negotiate acquisitions as neededEngage with financial consultants and auditors as neededAssist with the recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of accounting and payroll staff as required.Serve as a key member of executive leadership team and round table discussion panel.Review and ensure application of appropriate internal controls, GAAP compliance and financial procedures.Ensure timeliness and accuracy of financial and management reporting data for federal funders, foundations, investors and company's board of directors.Assist in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements.Participate in the preparation and timely filing of all local, state and federal tax returns.Ensure GAAP compliance regarding all financial functions.Work with Human Resources to ensure appropriate legal complianceFinancial Information

Monitor cash balances and cash forecastsArrange for debt financing and equity financing Develop and engage with donorsInvest funds as neededThird Parties
Participate in conference calls with the donorsMaintain banking relationshipsInteract with DCFS appointed representatives and monitors assigned to review or monitor DCFS funded contractsCash Management
Assist with overseeing monthly cash management and AP Department, approve large payables, sign checks upon CFO approval, authorize large wires and ACHs upon CFO approvalReview, improve, and implement Accounts Receivable processes and provide guidance relating to the collection process QUALIFICATIONS :Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant fields, Master's Degree Preferred Experience: A minimum of 3 years accounting/financial management experience 2 years or more supervisory experience, preferably in a nonprofit corporationCredential: N/ARequired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 1. Accounting knowledge and aptitude2. Mathematics and language arts proficiency3. Must possess proficiency and skill with utilizing electronic data management and accounting systems4. Must possess the ability to utilize Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Facetime as virtual meeting mediums5.
