Job Description:
We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Payroll and Accounting Specialist to support our Finance Department in various accounting functions. As a Payroll and Accounting Specialist, you will play a crucial role in processing payroll and accounting data, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with audits, and providing oversight for our 401(k) plan. This position requires an understanding of accounting principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment. Please see below to apply and join this dedicated team striving to make a positive impact on the community.Responsibilities:Input and process payroll and accounting data into our accounting system, including time/attendance records, journal entries, invoices, and travel reimbursement requests.Generate and review system reports for accuracy and compliance with organizational policies.Maintain time and attendance records, labor reports, and provide bi-weekly leave balance reports to supervisors.Ensure all transactions adhere to applicable laws and organizational guidelines.Manage documentation related to payroll and financial files, including filing and maintaining vendor files.Oversee the 401(k) plan, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance.Generate and analyze reports related to payroll and provider payments, identifying and resolving discrepancies.Respond to inquiries regarding accounting functions and policies, providing support across the Finance Department.Assist with preparations for annual audits and fiscal monitoringWorking hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PMSkills:Familiarity with Paylocity and or MIP/AbilaExperience in a non-profit accounting or related field preferredEducation:AssociateExperience:4-7 yearsQualifications:Associates degree in accounting, business administration, public administration or financeKnowledge of payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliation processes.Proficient in Microsoft Office SuiteExcellent oral and written communication skills.Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information.Analytical skills, with the ability to accurately enter and retrieve data, create financial reports, and prioritize multiple tasks.Please apply online at www.spherion.com/applySpherion has helped thousands of people just like you find work happiness!
