At Bloomberg Finance we are committed to providing world-class support to our business partners by providing insight on business performance, financial oversight and thought leadership. We are looking for a finance specialist to join our larger finance team supporting the Product organization. In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to deliver a blend of financial and operational analysis, financial modeling, reporting and senior management support to drive the strategic direction of two of Bloomberg's newest products, BQuant and BQL. BQuant is the first end-to-end quant investment solution to offer operation-ready access to Bloomberg's comprehensive range of high-quality, market leading, multi-asset-class financial data offerings, alternative data sets, and calculation services used in various investment workflows across multiple asset classes.? Bloomberg Query Language (BQL) is an API based on normalized, curated, point-in-time data that allows users to perform custom calculations in the Bloomberg Cloud either through BQUANT, a Microsoft Excel API, or directly in the Bloomberg Terminal. You will be expected to provide business managers and executives with timely, accurate, and transparent reporting of relevant metrics and financial information to drive strategy, accountability to business outcomes, and efficient operations. You will be responsible for using our extensive data sources to provide solutions to urgent business questions, financial / operational insight, and reporting. You will also be responsible for building tools that serve longer-term needs. Your ability to develop relationships with stakeholders across the organization and strong analytical and communication skills will help you be successful in this role. The Financial Specialist will have strong interpersonal skills allowing him/her to cultivate key relationships with stakeholders, management and external parties. This individual will have strong presentation skills. You must be a team player and dynamic leader that advances business interests, understands the financial consequences of major decisions; owns the process of gathering, analyzing and reporting financial information; and generates recommendations targeted at improving revenues, profitability, and customer satisfaction. We'll trust you to:
  • Build relationships with key business contacts, working closely with stakeholders to inform business strategy, define strategic priorities and measure success
  • Support development and track performance of business plans and strategic initiatives
  • Support development of commercial strategy including market analysis, product pricing models, revenue forecasts and cost analysis
  • Develop and maintenance of KPIs and business metrics
  • Draft quarterly financial updates, annual operating plans and other business planning presentations
  • Manage FP&A requirements in adherence to corporate requirements and processes
  • Oversee resource management, resource allocations, and resource related reporting and analysis
  • Participate in the development of presentations for Senior Management, both on a regularly scheduled and ad hoc basis
You'll need to have:
  • 7+ years of experience in financial analysis
  • A BA/BS in Finance, Accounting or related field
  • Ability to identify problems, understand the root cause, make recommendations and drive to a solution
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence outcomes of issues and projects
  • Experience carrying out complex work with autonomy and make decisions within scope of responsibilities
  • Team player who can work across multiple departments and levels within the company
  • Ability to voice opinions or concerns to senior management
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Exceptional written, interpersonal and communication skills
We'd love to see:
  • Experience in financial services or a financial data provider industry a strong plus
  • High curiosity level and desire to learn
  • Flexibility to work in an entrepreneurial and fast-moving environment
  • Familiarity with the Bloomberg terminal is useful, but not required
  • Experience with Enterprise software applications e.g., SAP
  • Experience with data visualization applications e.g., Tableau or Qlik

Salary Range: 155,000 - 205,000 USD Annually + Benefits + Bonus The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
