Job purpose

The Finance Support Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily collection and verification of customer weight data (tonnage) and supporting accurate financial processes. This role ensures the timeliness and precision of data entry by the Finance Support team, while providing leadership to maintain efficiency and accountability.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Oversee and resolve all billing tasks assigned to the team.
  • Collect and validate tonnage data through accurate data entry.
  • Lead and manage a team of five Finance Support Specialists.
  • Review sales orders and purchase orders for financial accuracy.
  • Prepare and send tonnage reports to customers upon request.
  • Communicate with vendors to clarify billing discrepancies and gather required information.
  • Manage end-of-month billing processes for data collection and reporting.
  • Handle timecard management and payroll tasks using ADP.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Business or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of management experience, preferably in finance or operations support.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to lead a team and achieve departmental objectives.
  • Excellent communication skills with a positive and collaborative approach.
  • Ability to learn quickly and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Strong prioritization skills with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Work Conditions/Physical Requirements

In person position in downtown Stamford office. Primarily an office environment. Noise level is low. Ability to work after normal business hours as needed is required.
