We are actively seeking a talented Finance Technology Services Manager to join our Pacific Life Technology team. This role will report to the AVP, Finance Technology. The role is ideally based in Newport Beach, CA (hybrid), and works with a diverse group of business and technology leaders ensuring delivery and support services meet the required customer success criteria and technology governingpolicies.
This role is crucial in managing technology services across the financial systems landscape that supports our business partners in Accounting Operations, Close & Consolidations, Financial & External Reporting, and Financial Planning & Analysis. You will oversee demand and delivery management with each business process area and supervise both internal personnel and managed service providers to ensure agreed-upon services are delivered. The finance applications under management include Oracle Fusion Cloud Financials ERP, Oracle Cloud EPM, PeopleSoft ERP, Oracle Finance Data Warehouse, and any integrations within the finance systems landscape. This role embraces a continuous improvement mindset to enhance key areas by evaluating the business demands and service metrics, while balancing the technical compliance activities such as patching, upgrades and risk and control management in the finance domain.
As a Finance Technology Services Manager within Pacific Life Technology, you will play a key role in Pacific Life's growth and long-term success by developing and executing the overall strategy and roadmap for the technology ecosystem that drives service excellence across Pacific Life divisions. Your responsibilities extend beyond managing personnel and services providers - you will also lead the onboarding of enterprise applications and non-technology supported systems into a service management framework providing quality services in a robust and efficient manner. At the core, this role embodies the One Pacific Life philosophy, functioning effectively in dynamic environments while ensuring quality service design remains a central tenant of service management at Pacific Life. As a champion of service excellence, you will own and drive best in class service management activities, processes and people across the organization globally.
How you will make an impact:
* Set the vision, strategy, and action plan to implement service management practices and improve quality of service for the area of Finance Technology
* Lead the strategic implementation of all managed services in relation to financial applications
* Ensure performance and quality services are in line with best practices and standards on testing, delivery support and quality management, and evaluate emerging trends in CFO functions for potential implementation with vendors
* Champion quality, driving increased efficiency and effectiveness while partnering with enterprise programs to develop service transition strategies, benchmark and monitor performance, and assist teams in solving problems
* Coach organizations at-scale on how to blend incumbent and vendor delivery models to efficiently cover the system's support and delivery
* Ensure software engineering standards and practices related to quality are ingrained in all design and development
* Prioritize and deliver iteratively in a continuously changing environment
* Work with technology operations to set or adhere to practices, policies, processes, frameworks to run production operating within risk framework
The experience you will bring:
* 10+ years of experience leading best practices in service management
* Has hands-on prior experience with finance application management and financial processes applying learnings at-scale in leadership role to deliver optimum outcomes
* Experience managing a global team; ability to build, motivate and develop a deeply talented team of quality-minded service providers
* Strong communication skills: can communicate complex technical concepts and align organization on decisions that will set the tone for support practices, quality, and frameworks at Pacific Life
* Ability to foster an environment of mutual respect with the shared mission to modernize technology delivery and support
* Sound problem-solving skills: can quickly process complex information and present it clearly and simply
* Applies expertise as a support and delivery partner using a variety of service management approaches to support, delivery and testing approaches in leadership setting; becoming the status quo for service management quality assurance, and best practices
* Builds strategy for on-boarding applications from project mode to run, within the confines of budget and service requirements
* Has expertise developing automated end-to-end quality management, as well as knowledge of frameworks and tools such as ITIL
* Experience building out a performance, and service management frameworks to ensure analysis can be provisioned to support assessment on service management
* Support of SaaS and On-Premise environments, including integration workflow and monitoring controls ensuring services are not degraded over critical periods
What will make you stand out:
* Experience working in the financial services industry (insurance industry a plus)
* Extensive knowledge and experience of Service Management principles, methodologies, and tools in Software/SaaS environments on cloud and on-premise
* Implementation experience with ERP and EPM applications transforming the finance functions
* Confidently understands and can lead teams on improving their services practices towards excellence
* Believes in a culture of brutal transparency and trust and is open to learning new ideas outside scope
* Applies new service methods and will to improve services to find opportunities for continuous improvement and improve quality

Base Pay Range:
The base pay range noted represents the company's good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.
$159,660.00 - $195,140.00
