Position SummaryUnder the direction of the Director of Financial Aid, the Financial Aid Officer (FAO) plays a pivotal role in the effective operations of UCLA School of Law's Financial Aid Office by serving as a bridge between prospective, admitted, current, and graduated students and the University. In collaboration with the Director and Associate Director of Financial Aid, the FAO will execute a variety of financial aid programs and initiatives to attract and retain the highest caliber of law students to meet short and long-term goals established by the Dean. The FAO is responsible for providing comprehensive student services and support on all financial aid matters, including counseling, addressing financial aid inquiries, and assisting with scholarship-related matters. The FAO analyzes students' financial needs and eligibility for aid, offers guidance on accessing financial assistance, interprets UCLA financial aid policies, and proactively communicates with students about upcoming deadlines, impacts on financial aid, and other relevant information. Other key responsibilities include interpreting financial aid policies, procedures, and regulations, analyzing student data to determine financial aid eligibility, serving as a primary point of contact for financial aid inquiries, initiating the GLACIER process for international students, and offering guidance on financial systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, proficiency in interpreting financial aid policies, and the ability to communicate complex information clearly to diverse student populations.
