Crouse Health is hiring a Financial Affairs Officer at our Pomeroy College of Nursing, which is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), a high-quality, independent regulatory agency with rigorous educational standards. The college offers a two-year associates degree in applied science with a major in nursing. The Financial Affairs Officer is responsible for accurately monitoring, maintaining and administering student aid accounts in accordance with federal and state regulations, policies and guidelines. This role also counsels students seeking financial aid options, processes and requirements.
Responsibilities:
+ Proficiently monitors, maintains and documents all activities related to student aid and tuition.
+ Interprets and implements federal and State guidelines governing financial aid programs; maintains current knowledge of guideline revisions and implements accordingly.
+ Develops student cost of attendance (individual student budgets) including tuition, books, fees, etc., provides recommendations to department leadership for approval.
+ Interprets and applies policies and procedures regarding financial aid programs for the College; makes recommendations for updates to current policies as necessary to comply with State and federal laws.
+ Develops the procedures necessary to properly package applications for financial aid; awards prepared packages in compliance with the applicable State and federal regulations and guidelines.
+ Professionally counsels students with financial aid concerns.
+ Conducts individual and group entrance and exit counseling sessions and informational workshops, in accordance with state and federal agency guidelines.
+ Explains financial aid policies, procedures and regulations to prospective and enrolled students; conducts interviews and advises students seeking financial aid.
+ Calculates prorations for student financial aid refunds; notifies the appropriate funding agency of refund and amount.
+ Accurately maintains financial information to ensure appropriate use of scholarships and grants.
+ Ensures public Financial Aid information is current, accurate and in accordance with federal and State requirements.
+ Routinely reviews student aid accounts and implements changes in accordance with current policies, and regulation, provides recommendations to department leadership for approval.
+ Competently prepares scholarship and grant applications and collects and maintains supporting documentation and evidence required by grantors in a timely and organized fashion.
+ Accurately records Crouse Health Foundation scholarship spending and collaborates with Crouse Health Foundation and donors regarding scholarship policies and procedures as needed.
+ Accurately maintains Colleges Financial Aid data to ensure timely and accurate submission of required federal, state, and local reports.
+ Assumes other duties as assigned by department leadership.
Job Requirements:
+ Bachelors Degree in Business or related field required.
+ 2-4 years of financial aid experience in financial aid strongly preferred.
+ Knowledge of Title IV programs and regulations.
+ Strong computer skills and knowledge.
+ Extensive knowledge of all applicable financial aid regulations.
+ Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
+ Ability to work in a calm, professional manner.
+ Ability to work as a team player with department head.
+ Ability to organize complex tasks and meet deadlines.
+ Ability to prioritize and work well under pressure.
Salary: $60,000/year + based on education and experience.
