Isaacs Neighborhood Center (Isaacs Center) are well-established Manhattan community-based agencies that support services to approximately 30,000 New Yorkers. We are two of New York City's leading human services organizations meeting the needs of children, youth and families, homeless individuals, and older adults through-out Manhattan and New York City. The Isaacs Center focuses primarily on the needs of children and low-income families, out-of-school and out-of-work youth, and aging New Yorkers. We operate at community centers located in the neighborhoods of East Harlem and Yorkville, and seek to deliver programs that are impactful, innovative, and intergenerational. Purpose of Position: The Finance Analyst will create, produce, maintain, and interpret financial reports in accounting and budget softwares to measure key financial indicators for management. This would include being a key member in the annual budget process, evaluating the profitability of programs, management-and-general allocation analysis, competitive analysis, and any other areas of management interest. Schedule: Monday through Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Salary Range: $100,000 to $110,000 Candidates must have the required qualifications to be considered for the position. The salary offer will be based on the candidate's number of years experience in the exact or comparable position and additional preferred qualifications will be taken into account. Roles, Responsibilities, and Essential Duties
  • Develop and analyze custom financial reports in Accounting and Budget software platforms and Excel
  • Build rollup reports for portfolios, programs and funding sources with comparisons to budget
  • Maintain dimension groups and reporting structures and integrate with PAYCOM, budget software and Excel templates
  • Create and maintain dimension codes including funding sources, programs, locations and general ledger accounts
  • Monitor and test financial data to help ensure data integrity and accuracy
  • Develop monthly reporting and KPIs for the Board of Directors and Senior Leadership
  • Provide measurement controls, financial modeling and business case preparation for company program analysis that will allow management to make informed decisions to secure the financial viability for programs.
  • Develop custom reports to mirror claims for reimbursement from funders
  • Work with Controller to create and produce reports monitoring performance compared to budget
  • Work with Controller and Senior Leadership to develop financial models for cash flow forecasts, tracking and execution, strategic resource allocation, and prioritization of funding
  • Track, manage, and report on Key Performance Indicators from a company perspective with input from Senior Leadership
  • Build and maintain executive and operational dashboards
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Document operating procedures on using and interpreting financial reports as well any other new processes developed
  • Work with managers to update departmental financial data
  • Prepare presentations for managers and participate in budget meetings and trainings
  • Determine the cost/benefit of various programs and determine the funding level
  • Develop ad-hoc reporting for key business initiatives, as requested
  • Be part of the training team for new staff and enhancements
Required Skills/Qualifications
  • B.S. in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
  • Proficient in MS Excel, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, v-lookup, tables and formatting
  • Experience working with Intacct strongly preferred (or similar accounting software)
  • Accounting and/or Financial Reporting experience in a nonprofit organization strongly preferred.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
  • Experience with PASSPort or HHS Accelerator preferred.
  • Experience working with multiple funding sources and intercompany transactions with a budget of $20M or greater
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated with a strong desire to collaborate with others to innovate and improve financial services
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize goals and tasks
  • Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing. Ability to lead and oversee projects or initiatives.
Computer Skills: To Perform this job successfully, an individual should be
  • Exceptional technologic skills with an ability to leverage technology to improve financial systems and processes
  • Ability to learn new software or applications, as needed, and a willingness to play a lead role in creating and maintaining the company's budget data and system.
  • Fluent with Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel, Outlook, Word
