Job Type Full-timeDescriptionPOSITION SUMMARY: The Financial Analyst works directly with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Director of Finance in all functional areas and has primary responsibility for financial contract management and reporting. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to; assist in monthly preparation of financial statements, monthly budget report analysis, audit preparation and assistance. The Financial Analyst will work closely with the fiscal staff and senior program staff to ensure that all contract budgets are accurate as well as report to the departmental staff and the Chief Financial Officer on the progress of contract budgets vs. actual expenditures. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assisting Program Directors with financial and program reporting:Assist in coding of revenue and expenditures, as appropriate.Review and monitor coding of staff time to programs, as appropriate.Ensure compliance with financial obligations of contracts.Prepare and produce financial reports to funding sources.Review budget vs. actual each month and follow-up with program staff. Report highlights and variances to the CFO for board presentation.Provide analysis of trends and forecasts and recommend actions for optimization.Prepare and finalize internal and external budgets, in coordination with program directors.Prepare and report on any necessary financial data for RFPs and RFQs.Assisting CFO and others with special projects:Participate in all audits and fiscal monitoring; prepare periodic reports to funding sources; and prepare responses to funding source inquiries.Assist in preparation of program and departmental budgets.Test for reasonableness of budget assumptions and completeness.Performs monthly review of program financial reports and verifies accuracy and fiscal solvency.Assist fiscal staff with daily, monthly and annual task responsibilities.Reconcile balance sheet accounts; prepares adjustments to accounts as necessary.Streamline and document financial processes and share/educate with other departments across the agency.Develop, maintain, and distribute ad-hoc reports and financial models as-needed.Performs miscellaneous fiscal duties; assists Finance Director/CFO in research, analysis and special projects; processes travel statements. - 4+ years of experience in accounting or business office required
- Non-profit fund accounting, preferred
- Computerized payroll, general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and budgeting
- Computer proficiency, including excellent spreadsheet and word-processing skills
- Accounting research, account analysis, and business case development
- Managing data
- Interpreting funding source regulations and grant application requirements

Education and Knowledge Requirements: The following education and knowledge requirements are considered essential:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or relevant combination of education and experience.
- Incumbents with an Associate's Degree in accounting must be willing to obtain a Bachelor's Degree in accounting or related field.

- Must have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance
