Job DescriptionThe Financial Analyst shall be responsible for gathering, organizing and interpreting statistical information based on the financial data of Harmony Senior Services and industry research. The Financial Analyst will oversee financial analysis for the companies and will ensure the quality and accuracy of the data and analysis produced. The Financial Analyst will support various departments including Finance, Operations, Sales and Marketing and Human Resources.The responsibilities of the Financial Analyst will be to design, maintain and update Harmony Senior Services (HSS) financial and operational reports, budget models and forecast on a weekly, monthly and annual basis, in accordance with HSS established policies and procedures.Key Roles/Responsibilities:
  • Champions the values and culture of Harmony Senior Services while fostering an environment that makes resident satisfaction a top priority.
  • Use statistical methods to analyze data and generate meaningful business reports.
  • Assists with development of annual operating budgets.
  • Aid in the budgeting and capital expenditure planning and approval processes.
  • Perform financial forecasting, reporting, and operating metrics, supporting Finance, Operations, Marketing and HR analytical needs.
  • Analyze financial data and create financial models for decision support to all functions (Finance, Ops, Marketing, HR).
  • Report on financial performance and prepare reports and analysis for regular leadership reviews.
  • Conduct market research, data mining, comparable analysis, business intelligence and valuation comps to support internal valuation, planning and forecasting.
  • Analyze past results, perform variance analysis, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Evaluate financial performance by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts.
  • Provide analysis of trends and forecasts and recommend actions for optimization.
  • Recommend actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses.
  • Identify process improvements, including the creation of standard and ad-hoc reports, tools, and Excel dashboards.
  • Increase productivity by developing automated reporting/forecasting tools.
  • Maintain a strong financial analysis foundation creating forecasts and models.
  • Utilize data to create models that depict trends in the consumer base and the consumer population as a whole.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
Requirement
  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, accounting information systems, finance or economics.
  • 3+ years' experience in a financial analyst role; Senior Housing experience a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products.Advanced skill in Excel with significant knowledge of formulas, functions, pivot tables, visual basic, and creation/manipulation of complex workbooks.
  • Knowledge of SQL preferred and knowledge of YARDI a plus
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of accounting/finance, analyze financial data, identify trends, and make recommendations.
  • Proficient in business intelligence and analytical tools (SQL, PowerBI, Prophix, etc.).
  • High comfort level with systems and ability to design reports.
  • Strong financial modeling experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of data preparation procedures and requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Experience working with and presenting to senior level executives
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical design skills with high attention to detail.
