Financial Analyst Silver Hill Hospital in New Canaan, CT is seeking a full-time on-site person to serve as a Financial Analyst. The Financial Analyst will report directly to the Finance Director and be responsible for analyzing financial reports, strategizing ideas to improve business operations and meeting with company executive and other stakeholders to provide suggestions based on their analysis. Responsibilities:
  • Gather and analyze data for potential business expansion.
  • Identify specific business opportunities and ways to capitalize on them.
  • Assist with project management for selected projects.
  • Perform in depth monthly variance analysis to assist with business decisions.
  • Assist with monthly closing.
  • Perform other duties as assigned including special projects and analysis on an ad hoc basis.
  • Contribution accounts - On a monthly basis, record journal entries, maintain spreadsheets, and reconcile to General Ledger and Bank Accounts.
  • Back up for accounting and budgeting peers.
Skills and Attributes
  • Great analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent computer skills; experience with Sage
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and organizational skills, with a strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills along with creative thinking about solutions with others (be able to effectively communicate with all levels throughout the department and company)
  • Advanced accounting experience preferred (variance analysis & interacting with auditors)
  • Strong sense of urgency and attention to detail
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Motivated and able to interact with people of all levels.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance
  • 5+ years of related Accounting experience
  • Strong GAAP accounting knowledge
  • Proficient excel skills (various formula functions, vlook-ups, pivot table, etc.)
  • Experience working with multiple types of financial systems: MS Dynamics AX/365 experience a plus, Sage, Microsoft teams.
