JOB TITLE: Finance Assistant
SUPERVISOR: Development Director
CLASSIFICATION: Non-exempt, Full Time Position (40 hours a week)
POSITION SUMMARY: This position is an integral part of our Administration and Development Departments. The Finance Assistant is responsible for supporting and performing the organization's current donor database operational functions; performing tasks like collecting, researching, organizing and arranging financial data into systems. Also responsible for creating invoices, supporting the processing of payments, updating spreadsheets and generally assisting with data management to ensure accurate financial reporting. To successfully fill this role, the Assistant should be highly detail oriented with a critical degree of accuracy regarding data entry, report generation and basic accounting principles.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:
· Research, collect and organize financial data for efficient data entry as it relates to individual, corporate foundation gifts, grants and sponsorships
· Work collaboratively with finance bookkeeping vendor to administer invoice payments
· Assure that all gifts are captured and reconciled monthly with accounting system to provide appropriate financial statements and reports for annual audit
· Confirm donation pages and mailings include appropriate information for accurate data entry, along with tracking of 3rd party fundraising and social media donations
· Responsible for donation processing and entry, including in kinds and appropriate acknowledgements
· Manage and track gifts made by credit card, matching gift programs and corporate employee giving
· Manage current donor database and ensure integrity of data for use in reports and statistical analysis
· Proficiently organize, produce, and extract queries and/or reports to export numerous lists of donor data
· Ensure all possible information is captured from event sponsors, donors, and attendees
· Generate accurate, consistent and timely acknowledgement letters and tax receipts
· Complete other related duties as assigned

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
· 2-3 years of related finance and office experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
· Associate degree preferred; high school graduate required
· 1-3 years of familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks)
· 1-3 years of applicable database experience required; hands-on experience with donor database software preferred
· Proficient in Microsoft 365 and database programs
SALARY DESCRIPTION:
$20 -$22/hour, commensurate with experience
