About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to join our dynamic finance team. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the Financial Director/Controller will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting while maintaining a robust general ledger structure. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and develop a dedicated accounting team, oversee key financial processes, and contribute to the strategic growth of our company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Leadership: Oversee the monthly closing process, ensuring timely reconciliation of all general ledger accounts and the preparation of accurate financial statements.
• Team Management: Lead and coordinate the day-to-day activities of the Accounting team, ensuring deadlines are met and work is completed efficiently.
• Reporting and Compliance: Prepare and distribute monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports; respond to senior management inquiries; and manage payroll, including commission structures.
• Banking and Payroll: Manage daily corporate bank activities, ACH, and wire transfers, and oversee all aspects of the employee 401(k) plan.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure timely submission of sales tax, IFTA, and other regulatory reports, and prepare all tax, audit, and year-end documentation for CPA reviews.
• Process Improvement: Collaborate with the CFO on special projects, workflow improvements, and the development of new procedures to enhance department efficiency.

What We're Looking For:

• Educational Background: A BA/BS degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Experience: 5+ years of experience in financial reporting/general ledger management, with proven supervisory experience. Prior experience as a Controller or similar financial management role is highly desirable.
• Skills: Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting requirements. Proficiency in financial software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills are essential.
• Leadership: A proven leader with excellent analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.

Bonus Points:

• Certifications: CPA certification is a plus.
• Industry Experience: Experience in a distribution environment and familiarity with EPICOR ERP or other large, automated accounting systems.

Compensation Range: $110.000 to $150.000/year
