A well established Insurance Firm based in Manhattan is seeking a dynamic and experienced Financial Reporting Manager to join the team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial accounting and Statutory reporting within the Insurance industry. As a Financial Reporting Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, preparing accurate financial statements, and providing valuable insights to support strategic decision-making.
This role will provide lots of visibility and opportunity for growth with track to CFO.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements in accordance with regulatory standards and company policies.
- Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, Statutory filings, and ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial data and ensure consistency and accuracy in reporting.
- Stay up-to-date with regulatory changes and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Lead and mentor a team of accountants, providing guidance and support to foster professional development.
- Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in financial reporting operations.
- Provide financial insights and analysis to senior management to support strategic decision-making.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or relevant professional certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial and statutory reporting within the insurance industry required.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and accounting principles
- Proven experience in managing financial reporting processes and leading teams.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Advanced proficiency in financial reporting software and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
