Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Financial Reporting Manager will be responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting. These duties will include developing and maintaining best practices to ensure accurate and timely financial statements including footnotes and MD&A, manage annual audit, manage shareholder and bondholder reporting requirements, prepare, and manage the government reporting requirements, and prepare accounting memos. This position will also review and establish internal controls over financial reporting and provide support to the managers of the accounting team.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare quarterly and annual consolidated and standalone financial statements including footnotes and MD&A.
  • Ensure financial statements including footnotes and MD&A have proper supporting documentation and schedules.
  • Manage annual audit by collaborating with the external auditor, the accounting teams, and other functional groups to ensure timely completion of the audit.
  • Manage periodic and ad hoc reporting requirements to the shareholders and the bondholders.
  • Manage equity-based compensation accounting and ensure its compliance with US GAAP.
  • Prepare technical accounting memos to support accounting conclusions around significant transactions.
  • Manage and maintain the financial statements hierarchy and the company's chart of accounts.
  • Coordinate with the accounting teams in preparation of the monthly financial statement review packages and manage the monthly financial statements review with the Corporate Controller.
  • Work with and support the accounting teams in complex accounting areas, such as leases.
  • Ensure government reporting is filed accurately and on a timely basis.
  • Build and maintain the company's internal control over financial reporting.
  • Support overall department goals and objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting is required. CPA and/or Masters preferred.
  • 8+ years of relevant accounting and financial reporting experience, SEC reporting experience is a plus.
  • The mix of the big four public accounting and industry experience is a plus.
  • IPO experience is a plus.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of financial reporting and internal controls.
  • Ability to read and interpret accounting rules and guidance as well as perform research.
  • Excellent written and speaking skills including preparation and presentation of verbal and written reports and presentations.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet individual goals and deadlines.
  • Excellent time-management, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills.
  • Expertise with the Microsoft and google suite of products.
  • Experience with NetSuite or MS Dynamics is a plus.
