The Opportunity

Huron is seeking an experienced Regulatory and Compliance Risk Director to join our Financial Institutions Advisory team. In this client-facing role, you will leverage your deep understanding of banking regulations, policies, and governance to help clients build robust risk management frameworks and ensure regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Policy and Procedure Enhancement: Review and update existing policies and procedures to address identified compliance gaps.
  • Regulatory Compliance Advisory: Provide expert advice on regulatory requirements and ensure an organization's policies and procedures align with current laws and regulations.
  • Monitor regulatory developments: Advise on the impact of new laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Regulatory Risk Assessment: Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify regulatory and compliance gaps across an organization.
  • Benchmarking and Best Practices: Stay informed on industry best practices in regulatory and compliance risk management.
  • Strategic Risk Planning: Advise on long-term compliance risks and develop strategies to mitigate them proactively.
  • Client Consultation: Provide expert advice on risk management practices, frameworks, and compliance.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to align risk management practices with business objectives and regulatory expectations.
  • Training and Development: Conduct training sessions and workshops to educate clients and internal teams on regulatory and compliance best practices and policies.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks to continually enhance the risk management framework.
Qualifications
  • 7-10 years of experience with the banking sector.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in regulatory risk management and compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of risk management controls development and testing.
  • Extensive experience in developing and implementing risk management and compliance frameworks.
  • Proven track record in managing regulatory compliance within a complex, regulated environment.
  • Excellent client-facing and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in compliance risk management software and tools including machine learning and artificial intelligence.
  • Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration, Economics Accounting, or a related field.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to client sites as needed (up to 80%).
  • Willingness to work in-office for 3 days a week at our NYC office location at 1166 Avenue of the Americas.

The estimated base salary range for this job is $200,000 - $270,000. The range represents a good faith estimate of the range that Huron reasonably expects to pay for this job at the time of the job posting. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to specific skills or certifications, years of experience, market changes, and required travel. This job is also eligible to participate in Huron's annual incentive compensation program, which reflects Huron's pay for performance philosophy. Inclusive of annual incentive compensation opportunity, the total estimated compensation range for this job is $250,000 - $364,500. The job is also eligible to participate in Huron's benefit plans which include medical, dental and vision coverage and other wellness programs.
