Your Career, Your Track. This is a 1099 independent contractor position where you are in charge of your own career. You choose whether to focus on a specific product, work independently, or train new agents. You can develop a niche with retirement planning, business retirement planning, college savings or general investing or add investing, mortgages, and/or property and casualty. You can also decide to pursue your own office and full ownership of your business and its residual income.Not Alone. You will benefit from field training with a dedicated training agent who will help you learn the business and a broker who is actively working in the field. We provide weekly team training and access to an online library of webinars so that you can learn the business at your own pace. You are welcome to meet clients at our offices in Williamsburg and Newport News, but we generally work remotely. My goal is to help you become the best version of yourself. If that means you need to obtain your licenses and experience and move to a different workplace, then I will hope for your best. If that means we work together for many years to come, then I will help you succeed in the area of the business that you want to focus on.THE MARKET: An aging population and the anticipation of the transfer of a “Wall of Wealth” from one generation to the next during the next decade makes this an exciting time to be part of the financial services industry. For example, consider the following: “The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects 12.8% employment growth for financial advisors between 2022 and 2032. In that period, an estimated 42,000 jobs should open up.” “Public demand for financial planners is expected to increase in accordance with an ageing population, as more people want to plan for their hopefully longer retirements.” About 100 million Americans have either no life insurance or are underinsured.CHARACTERICTICS OF SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES:Strong Work Ethic. This is a 1099 independent contractor position. You will not have a boss, quota or salary. Your income will be unlimited, but will depend on your personal efforts, so you must be able to work independently and maintain your own schedule.Coachable. You will receive training, coaching, mentoring and encouragement to enable you to obtain professional licenses, experience and mastery of financial services.Perseverance. We offer products and services that are in demand, but not everyone will choose to do business with you. You must be able to handle that not everyone will schedule an appointment with you, some appointments will be cancelled, some people will place business with you and then change their minds.Delayed Gratification. There is a learning curve while you receive training and licenses. A career in financial services is more like a marathon than a sprint. It takes time to develop a client base, but many of our products will provide you with residual passive income.Mindset. A sense of urgency about improving your own financial situation while helping other people solve their financial challenges.REQUIREMENTS:Licensing. You must be able and willing to study for and pass licensing exams. For life insurance, there is one exam. For securities, there is a series of three exams. We give you access to the study materials for all of your licenses through a portal that is a deductible expense of $25 per month. We cover the cost of the exams.Criminal Background Check. You must be able to pass a criminal background check that screens for felonies and misdemeanors involving moral turpitude. Since we are heavily regulated, I cannot work around this requirement.Registration with the State Corporation Commission (SCC). You will be registered with the State Corporation Commission's Bureau of Insurance. They will monitor your license.One time fee. There is a one-time fee of $99 for the cost of the criminal background check and the SCC registration.THE WORK. The day to day work involves prospecting for potential clients, setting appointments, meeting with prospective clients to show them how you can help them, gathering information, developing and explaining solutions, implementing the required products and services, and obtaining referrals from the people you helpTHE REWARDS. Successful candidates will obtain professional licenses for insurance and investing. They can earn significant current income while also building passive, residual income.
