A successful Financial Services Representative (Banker) is an integral part of the Credit Union and will need to know or become familiar with many facets of the banking industry. They will need to build and maintain strong member relationships. They will perform branch lead responsibilities, along with applying Member Service skills, and giving positive feedback to their teammates. A Financial Services Representative will play a key role in assisting the branch in growing membership and business by supporting leads driven by the Branch Manager and Credit Union sales team. They receive and process membership, checking and loan applications, open new services, determine member needs and cross-sell additional financial services. They will also complete routine teller transactions as required by branch availability.
Requirements
The Position
* Focus on the member, providing efficient service and creating a positive, actively engaged experience while assisting in accurate completion of financial transactions
* Provide quality counsel to members and recommend appropriate products and services to meet their needs
* Answer all inbound calls and correspondence responding promptly to all member questions, concerns and inquiries
* Cross-sell additional products and services to members
* Make outbound calls and contacts with members and potential members to discuss promos and account services
* Balance cash drawer when scheduled at a teller station and make settlement of the day's activities
* Verify day-to-day ATM deposits and balance when necessary
* Utilize and maintain personal contact queue in Contact Management Systems
* Ensure members are aware of all terms, conditions and collateral held on the note and disclosure when disbursing loan funds
* Maintain member and credit union confidentiality at all times
* Organize, maintain, and audit assigned reports
* Open and audit New Accounts and create Share Certificates
* Knowledge of our Loan Products, IRA/HSAs, Debit card disputes, ACH disputes
* Handle Special Account items for members
* Ensure completion of monthly branch organization report list
* Communicate with members and potential members via different technology methods such as chat and video chat
* Operate ITM and cash recycler
* Assist in training new Member Services Reps
* Verify day-to-day night deposit drops
The Candidate
* Well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with others in person & remotely
* Working knowledge of all credit union products and services, including, but not limited to credit granting criteria, documentation required for each type of loan and the computation of interest rates
* The ability to evaluate problems and make independent decisions following established credit union policies and procedures
* Must be enthusiastic, self-motivated and member service oriented
* Ability to handle a fast-paced environment and multi-task
* Ability to operate computer applications
* Notary and Medallion certified, or able to become certified ASAP
* High school diploma or equivalent
* Experience in a customer service position, preferably in a financial institution, which included duties such as operating and balancing a cash drawer and/or providing face-to-face customer assistance preferred, but not required
* Willing to work flexible hours, including Saturdays
* Must have reliable transportation
