Responsibilities As a Financial Specialist within the Laboratory and Analytical Services Division, some of your specific duties will include: Performs a variety of routine financial management tasks (such as examining financial management documents for proper accounting classification and authorization; performing reconciliations; analyzing a variety of accounts; entering and processing data into various accounts and the general ledger; recognizing and adjusting differences between the general ledger and subsidiary accounts; preparing monthly trial balances and financial reports; reviewing procedures related to the automated accounting system; and/or reviewing, for completeness, financial data from various sources). Provides budget and financial customer service to various segments within the organization. Provides financial services and assistance to various segments within an organization to include senior management, organizational purchase cards holders, financial, services and administrative support sections within the organization. Utilizes various computer software and systems (to include financial and/or budget) to perform data entry, generate reports, perform reconciliations, create presentations, graphics and/or charts etc. Provide administrative services and assistance to organizational senior management on a daily basis for administrative functions such as administrative correspondence, reviewing technical materials, tracking documentation to ensure it is completed within required timeframes and automated timekeeping support. Qualifications For GS-07: Applicants must meet one of the following to qualify for the GS-07 level: One year of specialized experience in or directly related to this position that equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position. To be creditable, the required specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-05 level in the Federal service.
