Description

The Financial Specialist reports to the Chief Deputy and acts as an integral member of the County Clerk team. This role serves in financial reporting and budget planning/administration capacity and ensures compliance with Oklahoma statutes. This role is required to collaborate cross-functionally and use knowledge of County procedures, protocols, and workflows to provide effective and well-informed guidance to County operational partners. This position partners with other Finance team member and plays a vital support role in the preparation of County financial statements and regulatory reporting and compliance activities. This position is responsible to: Provide critical and sound financial support to effectively prepare, reconcile, and post transactions, appropriations, apportionments, evaluation reimbursement, verification reports, and submit ACH payments to bank of record. Collaborate with other County finance members to ensure timely and accurate financial entries. Under guidance, prepare annual mandated documents according to County, State, and Federal fiscal controls and regulations. Analyze and prepare reporting summary reporting forms and documents for presentation to County boards and Support the preparation, analysis, and printing of the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report. Coordinate with County departments to assist with annual County Budget preparation and completion and distribution of County budget book. Calculate and prepare Debt Service Fund for the County Annual Adopted Budget and Estimate of Needs and prepare the public notice publication for the Annual Adopted Budget. Use analytical skills to audit processes, assess trends, identify discrepancies, and suggest process improvements. Send routine notices of occupational taxes and fees collected to appropriate state agencies on a scheduled basis. Assist with the preparation of reports to track daily activities, departmental processes, and special projects for purposes of accurate and compliant records management. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practices and systems upgrades and make recommendations for process improvement and enhancements. Must be able to be present at designated work site minimum of 40 hours per week, as established by supervisor. Other duties as assigned.
