The Certificate of Conduct and Non-Criminal Fingerprint Unit processes applicants for Certificate of Conduct, which are criminal history searches within the environs of New York City, indicating whether or not the applicant has a criminal history. Certificates of Conduct are only issued under specific guidelines. The unit also takes Non-Criminal Fingerprints which may be required to get certain permits or licenses.
The Certificate of Conduct and Non-Criminal Fingerprint Unit is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Fingerprint Technician Trainee. The Fingerprint Technician Trainee under direct supervision will take fingerprints of applicants for employment or persons applying for licensure, persons requesting Certificate of Good Conduct to obtain background checks. Maintain records on the number and type of fingerprints taken, filed, searched, and other works performed.

Hours/ Shift: 0900 x 1700 Sat/Sun RDOs

Minimum Qualifications
A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent.

Residency Requirement
New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County. To determine if the residency requirement applies to you, please discuss with the agency representative at the time of interview.
