Does that sound like something you can get behind?A Day in the Life of a Finishing & Packing SupervisorAs the Finishing & Packing Supervisor at Lodge Cast Iron, you'll be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of both the finishing and packing departments. Your role is crucial in ensuring that production goals are met while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. You'll lead your team to success by fostering a positive and productive work environment, implementing continuous improvements, and ensuring that all equipment and processes run smoothly.If you're a strong leader with a passion for manufacturing and a commitment to excellence, this role will be a perfect fit for you.Responsibilities
  • Set and achieve departmental goals in alignment with company objectives.
  • Plan, organize, and schedule daily, weekly, and monthly production in both finishing and packing operations.
  • Ensure proper startup of each shift by checking all equipment and preparing the departments to meet production goals.
  • Conduct daily walk-throughs to inspect equipment, identify areas for improvement, and schedule necessary maintenance.
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets, control inventory, and ensure the availability of supplies, parts, tools, and equipment.
  • Ensure all personnel are properly trained in efficient and safe work methods, observe safety practices, and follow company rules.
  • Maintain accurate and timely distribution of all department files, records, reports, and forms.
  • Communicate and enforce company policies, goals, and procedures consistently with all employees.
  • Develop and implement improvement methods and track progress in areas of cost, quality, safety, and production.
  • Foster a positive, productive, and ethical work environment.
  • Keep the Finishing and Packing Support Manager informed of daily operations.
  • Perform any other job-related tasks necessary to achieve company goals and objectives.
Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Experience in manufacturing and business operations; finishing and packaging background is a plus.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand on a solid surface for extended periods.
  • Must have effective oral and written communication skills and be computer literate.
  • Ability to function effectively under pressure, solve problems, and make decisions based on knowledge and understanding of processes.
