Position DetailsStandard Schedule: 7:00 am until 3:30 pm Monday - FridayMandatory overtime is dictated by production demands, therefore daily and/or weekly (weekend) overtime is required as neededPosition Overview:The high energy Finishing Production Associate is an integral part of the finishing process and responsible for providing support to the Finishing Department, ensuring the production and efficiency of the line meets operational standards. One must be self-motivated with a strong attention to detail and enjoy working in a fast-paced, repetitive and demanding production environment to ensure the interminable and efficient running of a smooth workflow to minimize downtime for optimum production volume and quality. You will excel if you thrive on rolling up your sleeves and getting the job done.The primary daily duties of this role will include, but not limited to, loading/unloading, monitoring, and maintaining daily working condition of finishing machine which includes thorough, daily, extensive equipment cleaning.Being a team player is essential since all tasks require close collaboration with co-workers to ensure product is finished on schedule and within the quality specifications.Duties and Responsibilities
  • Reviews, understands, and follows daily production schedule from Team Lead to optimize order flow for the shift
  • Learn and gain clear understanding of the finishing department's operations
  • Manually loads/unloads and stores material
  • Checks product quality as unloading to detect defects or deviations from standards; reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the Team Lead
  • Assists with cleaning during system color change
  • Minimize waste of raw materials as well as working in a clean and tidy manner
  • Performs daily cleaning on finishing machine, spray guns, conveyor, and booth area
  • Conducts other routine preventative maintenance on finishing equipment at the established frequency; follows all defined SOP's; drives continuous improvement
  • Follow 6S process: Safety, Sort, Set, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain by participating in daily housekeeping activities indicative of a safe and well organized work environment (i.e. disassembling, cleaning, and reassembling sprayers, vessels, lines, and other equipment used in the process; uses solvents, wire brushes, other cleaning aids, and cloths for daily cleaning duties)
  • Job rotation and relief of other team members
  • Adheres to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), Company policies, and Safety Guidelines; wears required PPE (safety glasses, steel toe shoes, and hearing protection)
  • Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of Finishing Process
  • Demonstrated experience to safely perform daily routine equipment cleaning
  • Ability to perform well under pressure while multitasking in a fast paced, but organized manner, with strong attention to detail to ensure task is completed efficiently, to the correct standard, and in the necessary time frame
  • Physical stamina and strength with ability to walk and stand continuously throughout the shift
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to work and communicate well with others
  • Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment
  • Safety and OSHA training required (will train)
Minimum QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Must be atleast 18 years of age
  • Punctual and regular attendance required with ability to work long hours, mandatory overtime is dictated by production demands, therefore daily and/or weekly (weekend) overtime is required as needed
  • Technical degree or a formal Apprenticeship is desirable
  • Previous production operator experience in a manufacturing environment with experience monitoring quality of finished goods in a repetitive manner in high volumes is preferred
  • Candidate must pass pre-employment background check and drug screen
