Job Description Come join the team at our cabinet manufacturing plant in Waconia, MN! We have an opening for a Finishing Technician. Our people are the life of this company. JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for ensuring that materials processed according to specifications and quality standards. They work with various types of wood, engineered wood products (mdf, etc.) and chemicals (solvents, resins, catalyst, etc.), and operate a range of equipment such as spraying equipment, sanding machines, mixing and testing finish material machines. They also perform quality checks, maintain safety standards, and troubleshoot machine problems. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Accumulating necessary work experience to hone in skills on:
  • Safety Processes - PPE, handling, and waste
  • Quality control - wood products and finish chemicals
  • Machine operations -full knowledge of equipment along including ability to maintain and repair
Provide support in the following:
  • Material management - ordering, receiving, inventory, supplies, and wastes
  • Standards - standards creation, wet retains, pour downs, and viscosity
  • Customer Tasks - custom color, color match, and new product development
  • Equipment PMs
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Highschool Diploma
  • Chemical Knowledge - Preferred
  • Background in Finishing
  • Knowledge and use of Finishing related equipment/tools
  • Extensive Knowledge of various Finishing systems/machines - Preferred
  • Management Background- Preferred
  • Ability to relate details to others to help learn and develop others
  • Flexible Schedule
