Requirements:

SUMMARY: The Fire Alarm Installation & Inspection Technician will be responsible for the installation, inspection, maintenance, and service of fire alarm systems, as well as assist in the installation of various low voltage systems such as video surveillance, door access, AV, audio, paging, intercom, nurse call and network. The Associate is responsible for completing projects in the most efficient and effective manner. All work must meet the highest quality standards set forth by the Company, while assuring a professional and safe working environment.

HIERARCHY: The Fire Alarm Installation & Inspection Technician reports directly to Project Manager who reports to the Director of Operations who reports to the President, US Midwest Division.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Responsible for reading and understanding Systems Integration installation process.
  • Must understand wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Responsible for knowledge and operation of the following test equipment: volt/ohm meter.
  • Must respond to all customer service-related issues promptly.
  • Responsible for accurate service installation tickets, and inventory items.
  • Achieve working knowledge of Company software and work within software system on a day-to-day basis.
  • Work in a safe, positive manner showing respect to others and contributing to the team.
  • Fully comply with Company and customer safety programs.
  • Demonstrates attention to detail, accuracy, thoroughness, and dependability by following instructions and being an active listener
  • Adapts well to changing circumstances or conditions in the field
  • Pursues career development opportunities such as training and certification courses
  • Always maintains a professional attitude and appearance
  • Keeps a clean and organized work environment

COMPETENCY:

  • Prior Fire Alarm experience
  • Preferred EST fire alarm experience
  • Obtain Fire Alarm NICET certification
  • Valid driver's license
  • Reliable transportation
  • Familiarity with basic hand tools

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Minimum 3 years experience installing, programming and troubleshooting addressable fire alarm systems.

REQUIRED EDUCATION: High School Diploma

LANGUAGE SKILLS: English

WORK ENVIRONMENT: on-site client location

EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK: 7:00 am – 4:00 pm Monday - Friday

TRAVEL: Minimal

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

· Ability to drive a company van to client sites

· Ability to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist, and reach on a daily basis

· Ability to safely use ladders, scaffolding and lifts

· Regularly use hands and fingers to handle, control or feel objects

· Regularly see details of objects that are less than a few feet away

· Regularly speak clearly so listeners can understand

· Regularly understand the speech of another person

· Frequently work on projects that require deadlines

· Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds

SALARY RANGE : $30 -$36.69/hour with paid health insurance benefits ( medical & vision)
