This position reports to the Fire Alarm Manager or their designated Agent. The Technician will be responsible for providing inspections, installations, and service on a variety of fire alarm system devices (primarily industrial) in a professional and timely manner.
Responsibilities - Provide exceptional customer service to clients by addressing their inquiries, concerns, and service requests promptly and professionally.
- Ability to work independently while providing excellent communication with customers, direct supervisor, and service team members.
- The Fire Alarm Service Technician will perform both routine inspection, scheduled repairs, and emergency service calls.
- Perform routine service and maintenance tasks on fire alarm systems in primarily industrial, and occasionally commercial and residential buildings.
- This includes inspecting, testing, cleaning components, and verifying system functionality.
- Identify and diagnose issues with fire alarm systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair faulty components, wiring, and equipment to restore optimal system performance.
- Provides customer instruction on system operation and functionality.
- Ability to manage job scheduling and job progress in an efficient and cost-effective manner, with a strong focus on quality.
- Respond to service requests, must be able to accurately diagnose fire alarm system malfunctions and adjust, repair, or replace equipment as needed to bring into compliance.
- Educate customers on fire alarm system functionality, best practices, and emergency response procedures.
- Complete and submit all required task-related, activity, productivity, and other documentation in a timely manner.
- Making sure all work complies with relevant codes and regulations.
- Demonstrate an understanding of and follow all safety regulations and practices.
- Ensure proper Maintenance and care of equipment trucks, lifts, tools, etc.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Manage their time to complete the maximum amount of service, inspection, and installation calls while maintaining a high level of quality.
- Achieve any weekly productivity goals assigned by the Fire Alarm Manager or designated Agent.
- Learn applicable fire protection codes and obtain applicable state licensing.
- Work in a safe manner as outlined by company safety procedures including the driving, personal protective equipment, and lockout/tag-out policies.
- Maintain their vehicle in accordance with company procedures and ensure it is clean and organized.
Qualifications - Applicable licensing and certification required by National, State and Local codes.
- NICET Certification and or verifiable work history of 5+ years desired (Fire Sprinkler Experience is a plus).
- Experience in industrial applications preferred.
- Ability to learn applicable installation, inspection, and servicing codes.
- A strong work ethic and professional appearance.
- Excellent communications, and customer service skills.
- Possess a valid driver's license and driving record that meets company requirements.
- Capable of passing a pre-employment background, MVR and drug test.
