Career Opportunities with Eddy County, New MexicoCurrent job opportunities are posted here as they become available.Position OverviewThis is a sworn firefighting position that shall work in coordination with the Deputy Chiefs. This position shall oversee the assigned department divisions, which may include EMS, Training/Health and Safety, Prevention, Operations, and Fleet and Facilities Divisions.Responsibilities

Work closely with the Deputy and Division Chiefs to ensure all policies, procedures, and training align with federal, state, and local regulations/laws.

Assist with establishing standardization of policies, procedures, programs, software, apparatus, EMS supplies, and equipment.

Collaborate with the Fire Chief, Deputy and Division Chiefs, Fiscal Manager, Administrative Assistants, Battalion Chiefs, and all career and reserve line staff.

Assist the operations division with emergency responses as requested by the Deputy Chief or Deputy Chief/Fire Marshal.

Conduct inspections of stations, apparatus, equipment, etc., to ensure ECFR items are properly maintained.

Be on-call after hours and on weekends.
