We have an unwavering commitment to integrity and a strong global team in place that allows us to continue our mission to redefine excellence within recruitment.Our team is currently looking for a Fire Engineer for a client in the Oil and Gas industry.RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Plan, direct, and oversee engineering activities including project execution. Conduct Fire Protection Engineering inspection, studies, design, and calculations. Complete site surveys and identify code issues and offer compliant solutions. Perform interpretation and application of local, state, and federal requirements, and regulations, relative to all aspects of fire protection and life safety. Prepare and present technical audits, reports, and exhibits. Design fire suppression system, fire alarm systems, and prepare technical specifications. Ability to multi-task, work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, show attention to detail, and demonstrate problem-solving skills. Occasional visits to construction sites (commissioning witness, As Built Verification/Generation) may require travel with overnight stay. Approximately 10-40% travel per year. With minimal support, carrying out and reviewing Fire Protection Engineering calculations including smoke exhaust and evacuation analysis. Review/Create Architectural Life Safety Code Analysis based on IBC and NFPA 101. Review fire protection submittals (Shop Drawings for construction) for code compliance prior to submittal to the AHJ for permitting. Extracts engineering information from CAD drawings. Prepares engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs. Reviews supplier drawing submittals and performs technical bid analyses. Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate. QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS): Education: Bachelor's Degree in engineering (or related field). A PE license to practice in Alberta Canada is required. Experience: 3+ years of related work experience. Possess certifications, training, and working knowledge of all ICC and NFPA codes and standards including one or more of the NFPA 13, 14, 11, 15, 16, 20, 22, 24, 25, 2001, 70, and 72. Experience in using Hydraulic Calculation software such as HASS or AutoSPRINK. The ability to design fire alarm, fire suppression, and life safety systems using Revit is preferred.The Global Edge Consultants, LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
