We are currently looking for a Fire Extinguisher Technician to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a company with a reputation for exceptional service and patient care.A Fire Extinguisher Technician ensures safe, competent, efficient, and timely performance of assigned tasks within the University Health's buildings and facilities. You will perform and accomplish all fire extinguisher-related inspections, which may require minor maintenance, carpentry, and life safety necessary for the operations and extinction systems within the health system.What we require:* Completion of high school, trade school, or equivalent GED is required.* One (1) year's experience in general maintenance, construction, plumbing, or electricity is required.* Reading, interpreting, and applying plans, specifications, blueprints, schematics, codes, and work orders.* Must demonstrate a high level of knowledge of all fire codes and be familiar with NFPA 10, 70, 71, and 101.* Must currently hold and maintain a B license for extinguishers issued by the Texas Department of Insurance.* A valid Texas State driver's license is is Class C and must maintain a clean motor vehicle record and be insurable by the Health System.Why you should apply:* Advancement opportunities* Generous benefits packages* Flexible hours and paid time off* We are ranked as one of the best hospitals in South Texas.
