- OPERATES ASSIGNED FIRE / MEDICAL DISPATCH CONSOLE TO RECEIVE 911 EMERGENCY CALL DATA FROM VARIOUS CALL TAKERS AND POLICE DISPATCHERS.
- UTILIZES APPROPRIATE AVAILABLE FIRE AND / OR MEDICAL UNIT PERSONNEL / EQUIPMENT.
- MUST MAINTAIN AWARENESS OF ALL UNITS OUT ON EMERGENCIES IN THE EVENT THE DISPATCHER MUST DISPATCH ADDITIONAL UNITS FOR ASSISTANCE, TO COVER, ETC.
- MUST BE ABLE TO PRIORITIZE AND MONITOR VARIOUS IN B PROGRESS SITUATIONS AT SAME TIME.
- MAY RECEIVE INSTRUCTIONS FROM OFFICER IN CHARGE (OIC) AT SCENE OF EMERGENCY AND RELAYS SAME TO APPROPRIATE OTHERS (i.e. NEED FOR ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT AND / OR PERSONNEL); ALARM COMPANIES, RAILROADS, ETC.
- NOTIFIES POLICE DISPATCHER OF ANY SITUATION THAT WARRANTS POLICE RESPONSE.
