- Make a difference, protect lives, and achieve your dreams. *Build your career with the industry-leading fire, life safety and security company.*Odyssey Fire, *a Pye-Barker Fire & Safety company, is hiring for a *Fire Sprinkler Pipe Fitter** *in* Wilmington, NC!*This position isresponsible for configuring, installing, fitting, and maintaining various piping systems, and ensuring the smooth operation of those systems.*Essential Duties & Responsibilities: ** Plans, prepares, installs, and maintains piping and plumbing systems composed of various materials; systems may include pipes, pressure and vacuum gauges, pipeline filters, steam traps, and strainer valves.* Consults blueprints, work orders, schematics, or instructions; creates working procedure based on specifications.* Gathers equipment and materials for the job.* Welds, cuts, bends, threads, solders, and fits pipes.* Attaches pipes and piping systems to walls using brackets, bracket systems, or clamps, cuts or bores holes prior to project.* Installs various types of insulation and pipe covering; safely removes and properly discards of old coverings according to hazardous waste procedures and in accordance with EPA and OSHA requirements.* Inspects pipes, testing for pressure and leaks; reports and/or resolves problems.* Coordinates with manager to schedule machinery maintenance, repairs, and installation to minimize disruption to operations.* Complies with applicable safety and building codes, regulations, and best practices.* Maintains records, including safety logs and inspection details.* Perform other duties assigned by management.*Education/Qualification: ** High School Diploma or GED preferred.
