Job Title: Fire Stopper ForemanJob Summary: The Fire Stopper Foreman will oversee the installation, inspection, and documentation of various penetration fire-stopping systems on a new construction project. This role requires ensuring that all fire-stop UL systems and any additional requirements are correctly implemented to prevent the spread of fire and smoke through openings in walls, floors, and ceilings. The Foreman will lead a team of insulators & fire stoppers, coordinate with other construction personnel, and ensure compliance with all safety regulations and building codes.Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead a team of fire stoppers in the installation of fire-stopping systems.
- Ensure all fire-stopping installations comply with building codes, safety standards, and project specifications.
- Inspect and assess work areas to determine the appropriate fire-stopping measures needed.
- Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and other trades to ensure timely and efficient project completion.
- Train and mentor team members on proper fire-stopping techniques and safety practices.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and inspections conducted.
- Identify and address any issues or discrepancies in fire-stopping installations.
- Ensure all tools and equipment are properly maintained and used safely.
- Stay updated on the latest fire-stopping technologies, methods, and regulations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Fire Stopper or similar role in the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of fire-stopping methods, materials, and building codes.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physically fit and able to work in various conditions, including confined spaces and at heights.
Educational Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Technical training or certification in fire-stopping systems is preferred.
Years of Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Firestop UL applications.
- At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory or foreman role.
