Under direct supervision and using established standards, this individual is responsible for assisting in fire/security/access system designs. Successful applicants will be trained on the fundamentals of Fire alarm systems and how to provide detailed information and submittals to communicate design and operation to customers, consultants, and team. Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Work with Sales, Project Managers, and Technical staff to interpret project specs and drawings, determine system layout
  • Create Access Control & Fire Alarm submittal documents and record drawings using AutoCAD and MS Office software
  • Perform to a professional standard for accurate, neat, error free work with an emphasis on attention to detail
  • Review individual drawings to ensure completeness and accuracy of work performed
  • Understand and utilize company-drafting procedures
  • Actively participate in personal and professional development and maintain knowledge of current and new technologies that the company offers
  • Promote a team environment, assisting other Design Engineers and staff with their projects
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
QualificationsMust possess working knowledge and certifications in Drafting Design with an emphasis in 2D AutoCAD. The drafter must have great attention to detail, excellent time management skills, with the ability to learn and take direction. Work in conjunction with SSD Alarms Engineering Team, Sales & Operations to ensure AHJ code compliance for all low voltage systems. Develop positive and ongoing relationships with customers to ensure company is meeting customers' expectations. Requirements:
  • A minimum of 1 year experience in AutoCAD
  • Ability to read blueprints and coordinate the creation of necessary drawings and equipment schedules for submittals and installation
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Highly organized with ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Valid and clean driver's license
  • Proficient knowledge and certifications in the use of AutoCAD
  • Must demonstrate computer literacy, including such programs as MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and AutoCAD
  • Must possess superior interpersonal skills and be a team player
