Job Description:

The Firearm Sales and Compliance Associate reports to the General Manager and is responsible for selling firearms and maintaining a complete, thorough and accurate firearms inventory to include the acquisition and disposition of firearms within federal legal compliance requirements. This role also serves as a member of the retail team, greeting members at the club, providing service and a critical first impression to members and prospective members as they arrive at Wing & Barrel Ranch. This is a non-exempt role scheduled Wednesday through Sunday. Requirements Essential Duties: •Organizes and maintains firearms within the retail store, gun vault, gun cleaning room and all firearms storage areas •Ensures ATF 4473 forms are completed thoroughly and accurately •Controls access in and out of the gun vault •Completes all ATF Gun Traces on or off site as requested •Ships and / or transfers firearms as requested •Receives incoming firearms and ammunition. Verifies accuracy of shipments to receiving documents •Conducts monthly firearms inventory/audits and document audits •Assists with training of staff as requested by the GM •Contacts customers via telephone, certified mail or e-mail concerning necessary corrections to 4473 forms to keep the club in compliance with the ATF •Provides exceptional service to every member by assisting them in making buying decisions by: o identifying and evaluating needs o making product recommendations based off this analysis •Greets members as they arrive at the clubhouse and assists Operations with helping members and guests get checked in and outfitted for their activities •Meets or exceed sales goals while giving members and guests a great experience •Serves as a base of knowledge of hunting and firearms, as well as general knowledge of other sporting goods items and merchandise •Advises or assists with questions on gun products or sales •Ensures that FFL requirements accurately completed and audited for all gun sales •Assists in calling NICS firearm background checks •Trains staff on FFL paperwork process/requirements as necessary •Evaluate current •Contribute to WBR's firearms regulatory compliance by staying current with Federal, state and local laws and regulations. Partner with GM and Owner on required changes to SOP's, or internal forms. •Builds and manages relationships with firearm distributors and representatives •Accurately and efficiently processes customer transactions •Collects payment in form of cash, check or credit from customers and provides accurate change when needed, and the transaction receipt •Records daily transactions from cash register to balance drawer by counting money at the beginning and end of each shift •Prepares for and facilitates monthly product knowledge training meetings •Responds to members' questions and provides information to guests; listens to members concerns or complaints and communicates/coordinates with others to resolve issues •Ensures daily opening /closing SOPs are created and followed •Follows all company policies and procedures •Maintains orderly appearance of personal workspace and surrounding areas •Keeps work area clean, neat and safe at all times •Learns Club Essentials and assists/trains others as needed •Provides support for special events as needed Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education/Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2+ years in firearm sales and customer service
  • Gun safety knowledge
  • Product knowledge: guns, ammunition, sporting goods, apparel, other
