1. Challenges current working practices; identifies process improvement opportunities and presents recommendations and solutions to management. Engages and commits to the organization's culture of continuous improvement by actively participating, supporting, and promoting CCHC Pillars of Excellence.
2. Design, implement, manage, and trouble shoot CCHC Firewall, VPN, WAN, LAN and WLAN.
3. Create and maintain a plan for the future direction of the CCHC Firewall, WAN, LAN and WLAN. Examine new technologies for potential use in this process.
4. Maintain each component of the firewalls, network and troubleshoot issues.
5. Assess the functionality of the CCHC firewalls and network routers. Ensure that the necessary data throughput rates by monitoring firewall and network activity.
6. Assist operations staff in performing daily operational tasks. Monitor processes and work to improve. Supervise operations staff as needed and when Manager of Network and End User Computing is off campus.
7. Make recommendations on and assist in the purchase of information systems hardware and software.
8. Maintain Firewall, VPN, WAN, LAN and WLAN diagrams, documentation and inventory.
9. Collaborate with third-party support and service vendors
10. Grant access to network services as needed. Perform daily operational tasks to maintain and improve hospital workstation and server performance.
11. Document information systems flow and procedures as required.
12. Serve on hospital committees and task forces as directed.
13. Participate in department on - call rotation.
14. Assume other duties as directed.
* BS/BA required, or an equivalent amount of related experience and education obtained that demonstrates the necessary skills and abilities to perform this job.
* Five years or more experience in implementation, management and troubleshooting of Check Point Firewalls, WAN and LAN hardware and operating systems.
* Check Point Certified Security Expert (CCSE) or equivalent.
* Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent.
* Demonstrated in depth knowledge of networking routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP), TCP/IP, routing, network operating systems, Windows.
* Five years or more experience working with LAN and WAN hardware including Ethernet and Fiber optic interfaces, routers, switches, network management software, Netscout and VPN technology. WiFi and Spectrum Analysis experience preferred.
* Proven ability to coordinate and lead others through project implementation and to communicate effectively (written and oral) at all levels.
