Detailed Position Description

St. Mary's College of Maryland at Historic St. Mary's City is accepting resumes for the 12- month position of Fiscal Administrator. Responsible for managing the budget for the Athletics & Recreation Department. Duties include performing a variety of complex clerical and bookkeeping work, applying accepted procedures to the preparation and maintenance of accounting records, and preparing financial and statistical reports. Must be able to follow NCAA and institutional policies and procedures.

Qualifications: High School diploma or GED equivalency required. Associate's degree preferred, including courses in typing, bookkeeping, and fiscal management. Seven years' experience in bookkeeping, accounting, office management, administrative work, or secretarial assignments involving advanced records keeping (directly related business school or college course may be substituted equally for up to one year's experience); must be bondable. Must have working knowledge of bookkeeping theories and practices and accepted office procedures; some knowledge of intermediate accounting procedures. Must have the ability to perform a volume of numerical detail work accurately, to make difficult mathematical computations with and without mechanical assistance. Must be proficient in the use of computer-based software for typing, data entry, word processing, database, spreadsheets, and microcomputer laptops. Must possess strong verbal and written communications skills, as well as exceptional organizational skills. Any combination of acceptable education and experience, which has provided the necessary knowledge and skills to fulfill the requirements of this position, may be considered. Employment will be contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check. The salary range is $45k to $60k, depending on qualifications and experience.
