The ideal candidate will have a great attitude, some knife skills, and interest in continuously learning new things. Reports to: Seafood Market Manager, with a dotted line to General Manager and the Director of Operations Job Duties & Responsibilities: The Guest Cleaning, cutting, slicing, and filleting fish and stocking seafood supplies. Understanding the specific requests of clients and delivering on those requests. Be proactive in achieving great results by furthering your knowledge on products offered in the Market, offering ideas and suggestions to the market team, and driving a sense of urgency to deliver quality items most efficiently. Assisting clients in selecting fish and answering any questions Determining a shelf life for stocked products. Have basic knowledge of seafood cooking. Extend your knowledge with recipes, cutting, and cooking techniques. The Property Demonstrate the ability to be organized, to work independently, and with the team to provide the highest quality experience, all while maintaining the overall appearance of the Market. Ensuring proper storage of supplies as per food and safety regulations. Keeping a record of all the seafood inventory of the Market. Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene of the work area and the cutting knives and equipment. Maintaining an odor-free environment in the Market Ensuring fish scraps are properly disposed of in designated areas Following and executing all required HACCP logs The Bottom Line Observe all store rules and Company policies, shift operating hours at all times as scheduled or assigned by Store Manager. Delivering to the requirements of the chefs in restaurants. Minimizing wastage while cutting the fish. Performing all tasks as delegated by the supervisors. Assisting managers with all transfers in and out of the Market Assisting with inventory, accepting orders, and processing orders Develop and maintain friendly and professional relationships with all commercial fisherman Participate in the procurement and handling of all local seafood coming from the dock. Delivering Remarkable Results Being able to listen to others' points of view and recognizing and appreciating differences. Properly handle, prepare, transport, and store products; ensuring company practices are strictly met or exceeded. Qualifications: Must possess good communication skills for interacting with clients. Knowledge of various techniques of cutting fish. Organization and highly detailed oriented; Excellent time management. Ability to stand on feet for extended periods. Ability to prioritize. Ability to follow through on deliverables and meet objectives and deadlines. A LOVE of all things seafood. Ability to take the initiative and work independently. Be a team player, goal-oriented.
