Above all, we believe that collaboration is the best way forward.HDR is seeking a national business class lead (BCL) for our fisheries facilities design group within the Water Business Group. The BCL will work with the Fisheries Business Class Director, Business Class peers, and HDR peers to execute our fisheries facilities design business across the United States and Canada. In a technical role, the person will focus on technical development, coordination, cross-discipline delivery, monitoring and improvement of technical competencies of Business Class staff and technical execution. The BCL will also focus on technical quality assurance, project execution, delivery, consultation, and mentoring. This leadership role will include oversight for project delivery and engineering design tasks in the planning and design of fish hatcheries and aquaculture systems throughout the United States and Canada. Experience in the design of upstream and downstream fish collection facilities, fish passage and screening, acclimation facilities, and aquaculture water treatment is desirable. We also welcome candidates with experience in engineering design of drinking water, wastewater, or raw water systems, pump stations, water or wastewater treatment, or water resource projects. Experience in the development of digital models, plans, specifications, and other supporting documentation (project documents) for bidding and construction for multidisciplined projects is especially required. The successful candidate will join a strong fisheries team and have the opportunity to collaborate directly with nationally recognized senior fisheries engineers and biologists. Your Role: Serve in a fish facilities business development role by interacting with clients, developing scopes of work and fee proposals, and participating in strategic planning for business in North America. Participate and review marketing proposals, preliminary OPCCs, technical scopes and fee proposals for fisheries related work. Coordinate fish facility design center functions including holding regular calls with key staff, staff project assignment and workload balancing tasks, and interactions with other HDR business classes. Lead fish hatchery design quality control efforts which will include coordination with HDR's quality management program, development of fisheries design standards, implementation of BIM Ensure fish hatchery projects are set up for success from the beginning of the project The successful candidate will also lead technical design tasks, perform engineering design, and expand their technical capabilities in the field.Keywords: Fisheries, Engineering, Design, Facilities, Program Manager, Project Manager QualificationsRequired Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Structural Engineering or a related degree. 10 years of experience participating directly in engineering design projects related to fish hatcheries, aquaculture, drinking water systems or treatment, wastewater systems or treatment, water intakes, pump stations, or water resource projects. PE licensure. Experience in the development of plans and specification for bidding or construction. Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Project). Oral and written communication skills. An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must. Desired Qualifications: Master's degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Structural Engineering.15+ years of experience NCEES registration. Extensive experience in the design, layout, and evaluation of fish hatcheries and aquaculture facilities. Experience developing or incorporating bio-security, bio-programming, and RAS/PRAS. Considerable knowledge of hatchery facility construction and maintenance requirements and techniques. Understanding and experience with water resource infrastructure including fishery related projects, water conveyance, storm water networks, civil grading, water treatment, wastewater treatment and pump stations. Experience developing individual or system-wide hatchery plans. Experience with Tribal, State and Federal fish and wildlife program managers Self-motivated, able to work independently and with a project team to completion of tasks. Experience working with BIM software (Revit and Civil 3D). Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. The expected compensation range depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location.The expected compensation range for this position in California is $143,451.00 - $242,190.00 annually.The expected compensation range for this position in Colorado is $143,451.00 - $204,930.00 annually.The expected compensation range for this position in Hawaii is $136,930.50- $195,615.00 annually.The expected compensation range for this position in New York is $163,013.00 - $232,875.00 annually.The expected compensation range for this position in Washington is $130,410.00 - $214,245.00 annually.Job Field: WaterSchedule: Full-timeEmployee Status: Regular
