Kleinschmidt has a full-time opening for a Fisheries Engineer in the Pacific Northwest Region to support and lead fish passage and aquaculture projects and manage people and client relationships. Our flexibility and core value of relationships allow us to offer employees the opportunity to work in ahybrid environment including working from the office and remotely, though residence in Oregon or Washington is strongly preferred. Office locations available to successful candidates include Redmond (WA), Bellingham (WA), and Portland (OR)Salary: $80,000-$100,000/year (based on experience)Who You AreA licensed Professional Engineer with a BSCE or MS with a minimum of 10 years' experience in fisheries and fish passage engineering or a closely related field such as hatchery design, guidance structures, etc. Experience in fisheries projects is preferred, but candidates with a structural, civil, mechanical, or hydraulic background who are interested in focusing on the fish-related engineering design fields are encouraged to apply.If you are interested in using your engineering background to work on important projects that make a real difference, then this may be the job for you. The candidate should have experience working with clients, agencies, and contractors during the planning and construction of projects. Familiarity with regulatory and permitting processes for fisheries engineering projects is a plus.Project Manager: Experience with project management, business development, and client management including management of multiple projects concurrently is desirable but not essential. The successful candidate will have experience managing small to medium project teams of engineers, drafters and project coordinators. Experience with managing multi-discipline projects is a plus. Kleinschmidt provides support for PDH and PE licenses.About the PositionTypical duties of this position include leading teams or subteams of engineers and scientists in the delivery of fish passage and aquaculture projects and assisting in business development and client management activities. Tasks include performing and/or managing structural, civil, mechanical, and hydraulic design tasks in support of fisheries engineering projects. The successful candidate will join a team of technical professionals working on fisheries, hydropower, renewable energy, and ecological restoration projects in the U.S. and Canada.
