- Job Summary:
- Develops and implements safe and effective health and fitness programs for specific patient populations.
- Education:
- Position requires a high school diploma or GED or 6 months- 1 years equivalent combination of education and experience in related area. College degree in Health Education, with certification in Personal training and/or other related field preferred. In lieu of degree, National certification or training required for specific duties (for example, certified personal fitness trainer or Rock Steady Boxing Coach certification) or need to obtain certification with 18 months.
- Registration/Certification/Licensure:
- Unexpired, unsuspended driver's license if incumbent will be required to drive as part of their routine job duties.
- Personal Trainer certification by nationally recognized certification organization, if required.
- Experience:
- Position requires 3-5 years related experience. Previous teaching or related experience preferred.
- Other Requirements:
- Maintains unit-specific and hospital competencies, mandatory learning, and any clinical certifications required in accordance with the Staff Education and Training policy GA-057 and/or any other department requirements.
- Effectively communicates with all patient populations and staff by implementing organization-wide communication techniques as a daily practice.
- Effectively advocates for quality patient safety and satisfaction as a daily practice.
- Demonstrated proficiency of computer skills necessary to effectively complete position requirements.
- Previous experience and demonstrated professionalism in effectively communicating with customers and in promoting a positive service atmosphere.
- Ability to work independently in a multi-task environment producing quality work.
- May require the ability to drive as part of routine job duties.
- Additional specialty training/certification as a fitness instructor.
- High level of awareness of local population health care needs.
