GEO Heat Exchangers, LLC was started in 1996 in order to fill the need for a high quality, fast turnaround heat exchanger repair and fabrication facility. The success and growth over the years has G.E.O. poised for continued growth and success in the future.
Safety - Maintaining a safe working environment in the shop and promoting a Safety First attitude among the leadermen and all shop employees under their supervision.
Under the guidance of supervision, the fitter repairs/fabricates heat exchangers using burning, fitting procedures.
- Lay-out, fit-up, burn, gouge, plasma-arc, and /or weld to form components to specified dimensions.
- Clean/Grind cut-outs as specified.
- Gathers the needed tools, reviews drawings and specifications needed to begin work.
- Grind weld material left by knock-offs.
- Set up job based on shop practices and safety procedures.
- Assist in training of lesser skilled fitters.
- Performs the assigned tasks in a safe manner, avoiding all unsafe practices.
- Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
- KNOWLEDGE: High School Diploma preferred; knowledge of fitting/welding techniques required, O.J.T. satisfactory.
- SKILL: Blue print reading, read and write English language and ability to pass ASME welding test. Perform basic shop math.
- 5 years of experience as a Fitter in a manufacturing environment.
- 5 years of experience within the manufacturing of shell and tube exchangers or a closely related industry within the custom heat exchanger fabrication environment.
