About this roleBlackRock's Fixed Income Team offers an array of fixed income products designed to meet specific client risk and return profiles. The business applies fundamental investment styles and strategies to generate alpha for clients across asset classes and global markets.The Fixed Income Client Lead will be responsible for representing these products to internal and external clients including investment consultants, existing clients, and prospects. The team is centrally involved in the firm's thought leadership agenda. Critical to the success of the team is the maintenance of strong relationships with the Global Client Business, who is responsible for managing and developing BlackRock's client relationships.Job Purpose/Background:This role will develop and promote our commercial efforts across the franchise.The global fixed income range of funds comprises a diverse range of strategies, fixed income assets, and portfolio management teams including both unconstrained and benchmark-oriented funds. The team's clients are located around the world. Having successfully built and grown a range of active mutual funds and bespoke mandates with considerable commercial success, the team offers a comprehensive ESG overlay to complement and complete our offering.The individual will work in partnership with sales, marketing, portfolio managers, risk management, and other key stakeholders to promote and support the products, with a clear mandate and focus on commercial activities, both sales and defense. The successful candidate will possess knowledge of fixed income markets, investment management, and global economics. Additionally, the candidate must have exceptional commercial skills, the ability to create and deliver on sales targets, and pivot to defense where appropriate. Strong communication skills and the ability to form trusted relationships with colleagues across the firm will also be key.Key Responsibilities:
Help to lead external commercial efforts for a wide range of fixed income strategies, solve for client needs, build and deliver on strategic growth plansWork alongside portfolio managers and product strategists to represent the Fixed Income business' range of solutions to external and internal stakeholdersDeepen internal relationships with sales teams globally to understand and identify potential gaps in product range and identify industry trendsPresent our funds and market views to existing and potential clients, act as a senior spokesperson for the teamDrive forward future product innovationBe responsive to client requests and queriesKnowledge/Experience Required:15+ years of fixed income asset classes experience, including but not limited to experience in sales and/or portfolio managementDepth of experience in one or more fixed income asset classes; focus on global credit markets and securitized products a plusExcellent commercial skills and track record; client-facing experience essentialSolid interpersonal skills and ability to quickly form meaningful working partnershipsStrong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to clearly articulate fixed income concepts, ideas, and processesEntrepreneurial orientation and passion for delivering outcomes for clientsCredible thought leader, avid follower of global markets, and intellectual curiosity that drives innovationWillingness to travel and spend time building relationships with external clients and internal business stakeholders in a matrixed, global organizationFor New York City only: The salary range for this position is $260,000 - $350,000. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits.
