Job Description:

The Flat Cutter Operator is responsible for the set up and operation of finishing equipment that automatically folds, slits, and scores printed sheets into signatures for binding. Responsibilities include ensuring orders are accurately completed through the loading and feeding of paper, the effectiveness and accuracy of cutting and staging completed work per instructions. In addition, the Flat Cutter Operator adjusts the machine during a production run and completes minor maintenance as required.

WHAT YOULL DO ON THE A-TEAM:

* Set up and operation of cutting/folding machinery.

* Examines work order to determine and perform set up specifications.

* Monitoring and maintaining quality by following company standard operating procedures.

* Communicate effectively with supervisor, finishing operators, material handlers, and co-workers.

* Providing oversight, direction, and training to general workers or temporary staff members assigned to assist in the folding area.

* Perform routine preventative maintenance and production adjustments of equipment as needed.

* Clean and maintain the work area.

* Performing other bindery and related functions as needed.

WHAT YOULL NEED:

* High school diploma or equivalent.

* Previous Finishing Operator experience including the ability to set up and operate bindery.

* Knowledge of cutting, mailing, and folding is highly desired.

* Mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills.

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

* Strong math skills and knowledge.
