JOB SUMMARY
Working closely with RMC Executive team, mechanics and field personnel, the Fleet manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing the operations of all equipment for effective maintenance and repair programs, equipment safety programs and equipment utilization on company job sites.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Three years fleet department related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of related training and related experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Familiarity with repairs and maintenance of equipment used in Utility Line Construction.
- Understanding of FMCSA regulations for drivers and motor carriers.

- The successful candidate should be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner as well as gather and analyze information skillfully.
- Ability to manage difficult customer situations, respond promptly to customer needs and solicit customer feedback to improve service.
- The ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with internal and external customers will ensure success in this position.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and complete multiple projects in a timely manner are needed.
- Knowledgeable in the use of various Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook email and the use of the internet.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Acts as technical advisor on all equipment issues and assists management team with equipment budgets and potential equipment purchases.
- Monitors and tracks equipment on a daily basis by job site, type and usage.
- Oversees multiple shop locations and their staff.
- Prepares purchase orders for rental equipment, tracks each piece of rented equipment by job site and job number.
- Coordinates repairs and maintenance with shop leads.
- Purchases small tools and any supplies needed for the equipment and/or work crews.
- Issues purchase orders in accordance with company policy and accounting system.
- Directs fleet transport truck driving activities.
- Reviews monthly equipment utilization reports.
- Approves vendor accounts payable equipment cost invoices.
- Oversees the inspection of equipment on a regular basis to comply with company safety policies.
- Coordinates training sessions for new equipment with the operators as needed.
- Coordinates updating DMV registration and current insurance.
- Assists with special projects as required.
- Prepares electronic correspondence, reports, and other forms of written communication.
- Performs other tasks and special projects as assigned.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- Salary rate is dependent on experience with an estimated range of $95,000 - $115,000 annually.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- This position is based out of our Helena Montana location.
- Overnight travel throughout the state of Montana and neighboring states is a requirement of this position. (approximately 15% of time)
