We are currently seeking a seasonal Fleet Technician Assistantto assist in troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing golf maintenance equipment, machinery, and golf carts for Foster Golf Links. This would be a great opportunity for someone who is mechanically inclined and willing to learn in this high demand, specialized career. You will work along side a journey level Fleet Technician to learn everything from small engine repair, electrical systems, hydraulics, and mower reel sharpening.

The wage is $25.00 to $30.00 per hour depending on qualifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Performs preventative maintenance and repairs on golf maintenance vehicles and equipment, Will perform routine inspections, fluid changes, lubricate components, and replace tires.

Selects and purchases various equipment and supplies as needed and maintains inventory.

Assists the Fleet Technician in diagnosing and troubleshooting vehicles and equipment problems in the shop and in the field.

Documents services, repairs, and other completed work on departmental forms, records, and reports.

Prepares vehicles and equipment for replacement, to include removing special equipment and lettering.

Pick-up, deliver, and swap vehicles as needed.

Maintains reasonable, predictable, and regular attendance during the standard work week.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

KNOWLEDGE (position requirements at entry):

* Basic knowledge of automotive/small engine repair methods and techniques;

* Familiarity with hand tools and power tools;

* Strong mechanical aptitude;

* Safety precautions applicable to area of assignment;

SKILLS (position requirements at entry):

* Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team;

* Attention to detail and problem-solving skills;

* Ability to follow established procedures for maintenance and repair work;

* Ability to safely use/operate hand/power tools

* Ability to communicate clearly, orally, and in writing, and use a computer in a concise manner.

* Operating equipment and vehicles maintained.

Education, Experience and Other Requirements

TRAINING, EXPERIENCE AND LICENSING REQUIREMENTS

Required: High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Valid WA State Driver's License at time of hire.

Desired: Advanced technical course work in automotive or small engine equipment and repair. Experience working with John Deere, Toro, or other related golf industry specific equipment.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY/REQUIREMENTS:

Positions in this class typically require: climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, mobility, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.

Heavy Work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
