JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.SAir Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech IIJT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challengesRANGE POSITION DESCRIPTION Candidate will be involved in maintaining all aspects of the flight test system to include scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, modification, inspection, wire repair, and troubleshootingJOB SUMMARY -ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES Support engineering staff by modifying, installing, testing, evaluating, repairing, and documenting the operation and performance of airborne test instrumentation, data acquisition systems, and ground support equipment • Proficiently operate, manage and maintain both ground and aircraft instrumentation systems, including to power systems, sensors/transducers, data/video recording, TSPI, Ethernet, and telemetry subsystems• Apply technical knowledge of electronic principles to solve basic problems using diagrams, schematics, engineering data and test equipment• Perform operational checks, pre & post flight procedures, troubleshoot and repair instrumentation on aircraft as required, utilizing knowledge of schematics, mechanical drawings, wire diagrams, and technical publicationsShould have proficiency in fabricating, terminating, and repairing cable harnessesAs well as utilizing electronic test equipment (Multimeter, Oscilloscope, Spectrum Analyzer, etc.) on a regular basis• Demonstrate proficiency in analog and digital electronic fundamentals• Utilize knowledge of schematics, mechanical drawings, wire diagrams, block diagrams, and technical publications to build prototype electronic assemblies• Employ hands-on experience with equipment such as a multi-meter, O-scope, spectrum analyzer, signal generator, frequency meter, and logic probe to accomplish specific tasks like checkout, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair• Demonstrate proficiency in fabricating cable harnesses, populating electronic assemblies, soldering, crimping, and wire terminations to interface equipment with sensors, data acquisition units, and test equipment• Possess a working knowledge of thermocouples, temperature reference junctions, accelerometers, charge amplifiers, pressure transducers, strain gauges, piezoelectric transducers, flow meters, transmitters, and signal conditioners• Have hands-on experience in electrical, instrumentation, and avionics maintenance on aircraft (highly desired)• Ability to work in a field environment, which may include shift work, overtime, and travel to remote locations• Regular exposure to weather and temperature extremes, drafts, and noise• Must have or be able to obtain a DOD security clearance• Must be able to obtain special program access• Perform all other related duties as assigned or requestedREQUIREMENTS -- EDUCATION, TECHNICAL, AND WORK EXPERIENCE Associate's degree or higher from an accredited college;
