Description:Flight & Test Safety Engineer responsible for flight safety activities at the Lockheed Martin Palmdale facility. Specific tasks include performing flight test safety tasks such as: provide safety oversight of daily flight and test operations; perform test hazard analyses and propose riskmitigation measures; coordinate, conduct, and document Test Safety Review Boards IAW with company processes; also conduct and document periodic flight safety surveys, submit occurrence reports, coordinate safety meetings and other tasks IAW US government requirements.Basic Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or above in Engineering or Aviation TechnologyCandidate must have or be able to obtain a Secret clearancePoses a technical background preferably in aviationExperience conducting Test Hazard Analysis efforts, testing and verification in compliance with MIL-STD-882 or equivalentExperience with System Safety Engineering design practicesProficient with Microsoft Office SuiteCandidate must be willing to work overtime and travel as needed to support program requirementsDesired Skills:Active Secret clearance Strong interpersonal skillsDecision-making skillsAdditionally, candidate must have considerable oral and written communication skills, technical writing experience, and an ability to perform oral presentations in front of large groups Aviation or Aerospace Engineering degreePilot exp, Flight Safety Exp, System Safety hazard analysis, Mishap investigation expAviation platform designUnderstanding of Human Factors and SystemsEngineering is considered a strong plusClearance Level: NoneOther Important Information You Should KnowExpression of Interest: By applying to this job, you are expressing interest in this position and could be considered for other career opportunities where similar skills and requirements have been identified as a match. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per weekPay Rate:The annual base salary range for this position in California or New York City is $115,500 - $217,500. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
